WOW Factor Kids Parties

WOW Factor Kids Parties

They are pretty simple to create if you focus your time and energy on a few key areas. I like to think about the way I want my guests to feel during and after the party. What can I do to make them feel welcome, joyful, surprised and delighted? Read on to find out how to create WOW Factor Kids Parties.

Focus on what the birthday child wants

First and foremost, reflect the personality and interests of the birthday child. Don’t worry so much about what the other kids will like, focus on what the birthday child will enjoy most. Other parents and kids understand that today is about your child. And, the vast majority of kids will come with a positive attitude and a smile on their face. Don’t forget it’s very likely that your child and their friends will have common interests.

If the birthday girl desperately wants a Ballerina party but you are concerned about the boys you have invited not enjoying themselves, please don’t worry! They will have a wonderful time. Even if they decided that ballet dancing isn’t for them, you can help them find an alternative activity to do (playing outside for example) or simply watching and joining in when it suits them. Unfortunately, you can’t please everybody… Meanwhile the birthday girl and her other friends will be having an absolute ball being little Ballerina’s.

Take home gifts with a twist

Instead of the classic lolly bag, is there something else you can give your guests as they leave? Something thoughtful. It could be something they can wear, play with or hang up… This is extra memorable and often more inexpensive than putting together a lolly bag.

Get the birthday child involved

Creating the wow factor isn’t just about your guests’ experience. It is also about the experience your family has in preparation for the party. It is so important to get the birthday child involved in the planning and set up process. Let them decide on themes, colour choices, decorating and the design of the cake. Ask them to help with fluffing tissue paper pom poms, putting table cloths on tables, anything they can easily accomplish. We know that sometimes this is a little more effort than it is worth, but do try to persist! This gives your child the opportunity to appreciate everything you do and be proud of you and themselves. We bet it will bring you closer together in the process too.

Keep the Decos simple

I can’t stress this enough! One awesomely decorated space, looks better than the whole house sparsely decorated. Go crazy with the food table decorations and make this the focal point of your party. This is a big one for creating WOW Factor Kids Parties. A lot of people put a bit too much emphasis on decorations for an Insta-worthy looking party. We say, concentrate on the way guests feel and keep them entertained and captivated.

Don’t forget about your adult guests…

Have something special and ‘adult’ for the parents who will be staying at your party. Champagne, strawberries, a cheese board. Preferably something you can just buy and plate up so it doesn’t use up too much of your precious prep time. This will make the parents feel a little bit indulged and special. After all, it’s their weekend too.

Keep the party short!

2 hours is perfect for kids under 10 years of age. Keep your guests wanting more, not wondering when it is socially acceptable to leave this marathon event. Put a finishing time on the invitation, don’t leave it open ended.
